Bienvenue à Genneton! The ideal location for a family, pet-friendly, self-catering holiday in the beautiful Poitou Charentes region of France.
It is our pleasure to welcome you to this beautiful part of France. Set on the border of Deux Sevres and Maine-et-Loire, we are located close to the vineyards of the Anjou region and Loire Valley, whilst to the south there is the Cognac region with its sunflowers, beautiful beaches and breathtaking Chateaux. The local area is excellent for walking and cycling, with wonderful views from every corner.
The Gite, which has been awarded 4 stars by Etoiles de France, is fully equipped for your comfort and enjoyment with Freesat UK and free Wi-Fi. Bath towels, hand towels and tea towels are provided, as is all bed linen and pool towels are available on request. With a superb secluded sun-drenched pool, sunbathing patio, BBQ area and private garden for your exclusive use, what more could you ask for?
The Gite
Palmerston Gite sits in the old school grounds and is central to several villages and towns within 6km-15km away offering supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, hairdressers, bars and restaurants. In Genneton we have a 'depot de pain' where you can get your fresh bread and croissants daily. The town also has a small fishing lake offering daily or weekly permits.
The gite can sleep up to 6 people and has its own private garden and pool. Pets are very welcome, and we offer a pet-sitting service if you wish to go out for the day to explore the local area. You can take your packed lunch with you, and then return to a ready cooked evening meal.....all you have to do is uncork the wine!
EXPLORING FURTHER AFIELD
Having driven here, you will be expecting to visit most of the wonderful sights around Genneton by car. However, there is also a local minibus tour company in the village (Toms Tours) which will take you out for a day's sightseeing around the vineyards or to see the beautiful chateau in Saumur or the historic town of Thouars. Ask us for details.
